Why retinal, not retinol?

Retinol has to convert twice in the skin before it acts; retinal (retinaldehyde) converts once. That typically means visible smoothing sooner, at gentler concentrations — the sensitive-skin shortcut to vitamin-A results. Here it’s buffered by CICA-7 and bakuchiol, so the journey stays calm.
